Donna In The Word ... Donna has a natural addiction to information and she reads profusely. She's a self-described "information junkie". These talents have allowed her to become a kind of lay-scholar in her own right in Biblical studies. She enjoys Biblical history and studying the Bible from the original Hebrew and Greek. This in-depth knowledge of the scriptures naturally finds its way into Donna's music. One of the inspiring aspects of her music is that every lyric within her songs can be fully supported by Scripture. In Donna's own words: "I actually like to footnote song lyrics with Scripture references. Musicians can get away with quite a bit of watering down or even contradicting the Word within music. I've always felt that if the Holy Spirit is going to be present within a song, the message has to be more than just 'kind of be Biblical', it has to be 'totally Biblical'. How can the Holy Spirit use a song to move the hearts of people if the message is contrary to His will and His Word? I would encourage every Christian musician to really seek the Holy Spirit within their music. Just because Jesus' Name is in the song, doesn't automatically mean, Jesus is in the song ... " |
